Trinity Hospital’s Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE), a highly specialized hospital unit customized for adults over the age of 65 who exhibit risk factors for functional decline such as Alzheimer's, stroke, pneumonia, etc. One of the few hospitals in the state of Georgia and the first in the CSRA to offer this customized treatment unit, Trinity joins ranks with some of the most prestigious hospitals across the country.
ACE is a new type of inpatient care developed to prevent complications and return elderly patients to their level of function prior to being hospitalized through care in staffing, procedures and the unit's overall design.
Our goal is to prevent long hospital stays that present serious risks for seniors. At Trinity Hospital of Augusta, the ACE Unit takes full precautions and focuses on mobility, coordination, socialization, maintaining skin integrity and prevention of infection.
"Everything about the ACE Unit at Trinity Hospital was planned with the older patient in mind." - Dr. George Pursley, Medical Director
